And he also happens to be her new neighbour. Who has the hots for her.
I love Gabby St Claire. She is irreverent, foul mouthed, annoying and just about the best crime scene cleaner-come-detective I've ever read – OK so she is the only crime scene cleaner-come-detective but I love her attitude, her sass, and her affinity for wearing the wrong thing at the wrong time.
Hazardous Duty is the first in a line of mystery series by author Christy Barritt. The story introduces Gabby and Riley and a few other characters who pop in throughout the series and I really couldn't help by love the character play between them all. The sexual tension was clean, with just enough spice to present two people who might have a chance at something together. Won't say anymore – just that I loved reading this series.
It is a humorous mystery, with a few Christian themes, clean romance, and plenty of suspense that I really enjoyed. I gave this book 4.5 and the series 4.5 stars.
