Ella and Cindy

After a year of surgeries, living with the step-family from hell and enduring physical therapy after physical therapy, Ella is finally stepping out again, and by stepping out she is going to write a new blog post on her pre-tragedy popular blog site. And by writing a new post on her blog, she means trying to suck up enough courage to let her best friend in the whole world know that she is still alive. And by best friend in the whole world, she means her anonymous Internet best friend, Cinder who means the universe to her.
Little does she know that Cinder is actually heart-throb Brian Oliver, Hollywood's big star and is fake-engaged to fellow actress 'Miss Bitch'.
Ella is disfigured badly from the accident that killed her mother and has issues with trusting anyone with anything about her life. But Cinder, he has always been there prior to the accident and the guilt in not letting him know what happened is the first in many hurdles that she has to overcome. Ella is kickarse in a way that takes more courage than fighting random vampires or flying starships. She learns to trust again, and opens up her heart and finds out that the ugly gorgeous step-sisters aren't all that bad.
OK, so I'm a sucker for fairytales and fairytale adaptations. And Cinder and Ella didn't disappoint. It is definitely a light summer read and not something you'd discuss point by point in your local reading group or book club, but I enjoyed it.
4 stars for this soppy romantic fairytale.
