LOVE TRIANGLE GALORE

A Beautiful Dark

A Beautiful Dark Series

By Jocelyn Davies

Paranormal

Romance

Teen/YA

Everything in Skye's life starts changing the day she turns seventeen, and it isn't all for the best either. When she meets two gorgeous guys at her birthday party, everything slowly starts to unravel in her neatly ordered life. The best friends she's known since kindergarten slip away from her, she finds herself alone at home most of the time, and her school work starts to suffer, all because she can't stop thinking about the tall, dark and snarky Asher and the hot, blonde and reassuring Devin.

They are everywhere. At her school, in her fav coffee house, at the local hang outs and down the garden path. She can't stop thinking about them and they make it fairly clear that they don't want her to forget them either. But something doesn't feel right. She notices the little things, mishaps that start to show her that these two handsome boys may not be all they seem, and that Skye might just one of them.

OK, OK, so we've got another special teen story here, and not an original either. I made my way through the story but there wasn't really much keeping me in the book except that I wanted to escape my squidlets for a few hours. Skye is your average teen with super powers who has to face the decision between Asher and Devin, the dark side and the light side – not an original story, like I said. The only thing that this story had going for it was that it was set in the winter with snow and I like snow…. *cough cough*

And don't get me started on the poorly developed love triangle. I just wanted to slap the girl sometimes. Safe to say that I won't be reading the rest in the series.

I've come across better super power stories than this one, and I promise I will review some of those later this year.

3 stars out of 5, only because at least it had correct spelling and grammar.
