Jane Fairfax Series

Romance

Kickin' Female Lead
Jane Fairfax is your average, modern business woman. She runs a local book store, enjoys reading, eating chocolate and drinking red wine, same as everyone else and she is trying to dissuade the handsome Walter from asking her out, yet again. She is desperate to get her manuscript Constance published and she is really trying not to kill random people – authors who are using the latest Jane Austen craze to sell trashing books – book reviewers who post nasty reviews and Brian George – the bane her of existence. No, really, if it wasn't for Brian aka Lord Byron, she wouldn't be the 200 something year old blood sucker she is today, for she is none other than Jane Austen herself. But can she get any royalties on the millions of books she has sold since her supposed death in 1817? No, and what's worse is having to contend with stupid Emma Bronte supporters who really make life a little more interesting.
Then her story gets snatched up by a major publishing firm in New York City and all of a sudden her 'first' book is a national best seller and life starts getting a little crazier than it already is. Before, she just had to contend with vampires who knew who she was, now has to figure out how to keep her real identity from the whole world.
Yes, it is a 'what if Jane Austen lived today' story with vampires thrown in to boot. I enjoyed reading about the characters that made up Jane Fairfax's modern world and loved the that the author tied in real world debates over who was England's best literary author. He really knew his stuff. It was an enjoyable read and the rest in the series were great as well.
5 Stars out of 5 for Jane Bites back and 4.5 stars for Jane goes Batty. Definitely fun to read.
